RE: Opinions on KZ Montego Bay

We don't think you can go wrong with KZ. We've had our Escalade for almost 3 years and it's held up well and we fulltime in it.....

RE: Have generator prep. should I go built in or portable

We've just gone thru this thought process since I'm retiring in 363 days(not that we're counting). We decided that the loss of storage and having to run the exhaust wasn't worth it. We're planning on buying the Yamaha 3000 for when we want it and maybe even solar panels for boondocking. I'd rather have the generator running on propane but it looks like it'll have to be gas:( . From talking to several people that have the newer portables, we've been told that the new portables run the a/c and other stuff just fine since they are more electronic. I guess the older generators don't do as well. If anyone disagrees with this please speak up.....

RE: Best bets for full time insurance

Like trkr said...they're just under the same policy. Like having a multi vehicle discount. They didn't raise our rates either after my incident this summer...

RE: Best bets for full time insurance

We went to GoodSams/GMAC about 2 years ago and have checked for better rates but couldn't find any. We had a claim with them on our truck this summer and it went well. I really think the big savings is having your tow vehicle and RV on one policy.....

Escalade 36CKB/CK help

If you have an Escalade 36CK/CKB could you send me a PM? I had a tire blowout under the kitchen slide and it ripped some wires out and I'm trying to piece it back together. I need some pics or at least talk to you.... Thanks....Scott

RE: Please help me with my blackwater valve!

I cut my grey water side with a sawzall to allow for clearance, fixed the valves, and then put a 6" rubber sleeve in on the grey side. You can buy them at lowes/HomeDepot to fit. Put the hose clamps on and away you go. Next time it'll be a 20 minute job.....Good luck!

RE: WOULD YOU?????

Started that 3 years ago and are still going. We're having a hard time waiting another 402 days so we'll be retired and move around to see the country. The greatest part of full-timing? Where do I start???????:h

RE: Sterling Bullett 55

I looked at the Sterlings and like them overall but they need air suspension for me to consider one. And a Duramax/Allison...... I was told they come from Canada.

RE: SYNTHETIC OIL FOR DIESEL

Having just switched from dino to Rotella synthetic(5w40?) I picked up 1 1/2 mpg empty and 1 mpg towing. The temp guage used to move around a little in the mountains but didn't this last trip. I buy all my filters on dieselplace.com and the oil at Wallyworld and take it to the dealer for a $15 oil change and lube. I'll be switching the tranny in about 3k miles to syn also. Is it worth it??? I think so but you'll have to decide. I've always used the GM computer for my oil changes (7-9k miles) and still will. Good luck!

RE: How to build a pin box bike rack?

Put a hitch on the front...I did and haven't regretted it. Do a search and you can probably find one that will just bolt on..

RE: flag pole for fifth wheel

There are much better ways of doing it without having to climb your ladder. I did that for a year and saw a better idea so I made my own. Send me your email and I'll send you a picture....Scott

RE: Bedroom TV in KZ Escalade...

We haven't had to replace it but I've had it out. It wasn't hard to remove...

RE: On-Star

We like it for the peace of mind and the phone. We've used the phone in places that the cell phone had iffy reception.

RE: JT's and re-adjustement

We have the same problem and really wish we would have saved our money for something that works well. I've tried all kinds of combinations and still get the shake after a few days.

RE: So you still want ot go fulltime? Are you nuts?

First of all, I have to agree with Firedude's comments. And...how could you not afford it. I see people with a lot less $ than what I have do it. I think it's more of the idea of what can you live with? We can live pretty cheap if need be. Just have to make adjustments here and there and do more volunteering. If you say you can't do it with the fuel prices, don't do it. Personal choice on these matters is a wonderful thing!!

RE: Electric Awning Feedback

We got one on our Escalade and just the wind sensor roll up makes it worth it. We'd do it again....
